CorningWare is definitely a popular item in my shop. Not only is it beautiful, it can be used in the oven, freezer, refrigerator or microwave. This is made possible through Pyroceram, a ceramic glass invention by S. Donald Stookey in the early 1950s. CorningWare became available to homemakers in 1958 in Corning, N.Y.
There are several CorningWare designs, and some of them are more rare than others.
Blue Cornflower This pattern was the first design released by CorningWare, and it became one of the most produced.
Wild Flower This design was released in 1978. It is much more intricate than previous designs.
French White
Not to be confused with an earlier release called All White, the French White design is softer and more modern. It was manufactured from 1965-1968.
After seeing articles saying CorningWare could be worth $10,000; people are constantly reaching out to me asking how much they could get for their set. Here’s the thing.
CorningWare is not worth thousands of dollars.
As interest in CorningWare has peaked, I have seen eBay listings for up to $6,000. But, these listings also include an “or Best Offer” option. More than likely, these dishes sold for much, much less. Remember, asking prices do not mean the piece is worth that much. Read more about these red flag listings here.
Most vintage CorningWare pieces are priced between $5-$100 by collectors. Sets are sold for $100-$500. CorningWare is still affordable for vintage lovers of all budgets. Shop my favorite CorningWare finds in my Etsy store!
